What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites. They help websites remember information, keep sessions working, improve security, and understand how visitors use the site.

Essential cookies

Essential cookies keep the core shop working and do not require consent. We set uktek_shopify_cart_id (links your basket to Shopify, kept for up to 30 days). Shopify's hosted checkout sets its own cookies needed to process your order securely.

Analytics and advertising measurement cookies (optional, only with your consent)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the shop is used and Google Ads measurement to understand whether our advertising leads to visits and sales. Nothing from Google loads and no analytics or advertising measurement cookies are set unless you press Accept on the cookie banner.

If you accept, Google may set cookies including _ga and _ga_* (kept for up to 2 years) to distinguish visitors and sessions, and _gcl_* cookies (typically kept for up to 90 days) to measure advertising conversions. Google LLC processes this data on our behalf; visits from the UK may be processed on servers outside the UK under Google's standard safeguards.

Your choice itself is stored on your device (uktek-google-measurement-consent-v2) so we do not ask on every visit.

Live chat cookies (only if you open the chat)

Our live chat is provided by tawk.to. Nothing from tawk.to loads and no chat cookies are set unless you click the chat button and then confirm "Continue to chat" in the notice that explains what will be loaded. Choosing Cancel loads nothing, and this choice is separate from your analytics cookie choice.

If you continue to chat, tawk.to will store a functional cookie (TawkConnectionTime) and browser-storage identifiers (twk_* entries) on your device so your conversation continues as you move between pages. tawk.to Inc. processes this data on our behalf; it may be processed on servers outside the UK under tawk.to's standard safeguards. Clearing your browser storage removes these entries.

Changing your mind

You can withdraw or change your choice at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of every page — the banner will be shown again. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; essential features such as the basket may stop working without essential cookies.
